One Seriously Busy Day!

James here - posting a few pics again.  Yesterday, we checked out the beautiful gardens at the Chi Lin Nunnery with our friend from Houston, Kristen.

The Entrance Gate:
A building with explanations of how all the buildings are made without nails.
 Views of the gardens:

You might notice this shot as similar to the background of our blog!

Some views are so pretty - they don't even look real in these pictures

All the ponds were full of Koi

Behind the waterfall was a restaurant where you could have a vegetarian lunch.

Outer entrance to the Nunnery itself (coming in from the garden).
 The nunnery - pretty amazing

About to head inside (no pictures could be taken there - sorry!)
A fun bonzai sitting on the "porch"

After the Nunnery, we did what most Hong Kongers would probably do and headed to a big mall nearby for lunch!
I thought this restaurant was pretty funny - those are plastic plates of food to choose from.  We settled on another restaurant.  Our strategy is generally to go to the place full of locals.  Tiff and I both got noodles - mine with a pork chop, hers with veggies - and a drink for about $4 a person.  Pretty tasty for $8.
Here we are on the subway heading to Tsim Sha Tsui
Here are a few pics on the boardwalk at Tsim Sha Tsui - the best place to watch the light show (that happens every night)

Once we found the boardwalk - we headed for an hour to the Night Market.  Really fun couple of blocks with vendors and food that is open from 6-12 each night.  Tiffany didn't bite on any of the Jimmy Foos, Dolcee and Cabbanas, etc.  She also didn't bite at the moving sea cucumbers and giant prawns on the counters at the food stalls . . .

It was hard to get a decent picture of the light show, but here's for trying

Just another day in Hong Kong. . . .loving it!
